Coach Dima was born in 1957 in the eastern provinces of the Soviet Union and began playing water polo at the age of 14 years old. with elite natural ability between the pipes, he quickly garnered the attention of Soviet national team coaches. Coach Dima was quickly selected to compete for the highest national levels that the soviet union had to offer.
from 1974 to 1982, Coach Dmitry competed in the top division in the soviet national league under the club of Moscow University, one of the union’s premier clubs. Dima was selected to compete for the Soviet national team at the youth, junior and senior levels, rostering in major competitions such as the European Championships, world university games as well as several other international tournaments.
Coach Dima continued to play in high level masters competitions, from 2004 to 2015 he was the first goalkeeper and captain of the Dynamo Moscow Masters Team. under his captaincy and leadership, the club cemented as one of the premier master’s programs around the world, including achievements such as
