Age-Group Coach
Greg started competing in Water Polo at the age of 10 years old at Scots Water Polo Club in Boca Raton. Greg’s natural ability to move in the water as well as his lanky build quickly garnered the attention of the United States National Team coaches early on in his playing career. Greg became a part of the national team circuit around 2017 earning himself a spot on the Development National Team targeted for the top 13u age athletes in the country.
From 2017-2021, Greg made the National Selection camps for the national team at every possible age group, from 2019-2021 he was a part of the U.S. Academy Team, a team used to keep athletes that were identified early in the Olympic Development Program to be trained by national coaches. In 2019, he was part of the Futures Cadet or 15u team that went to Barcelona for competitions at the end of the summer, as well he has been selected twice as a Nick Johnson Award winner for his sportsmanship and elite playing while in the Olympic Development Program.
In 2018, Greg made the decision to play for South Florida Water Polo Club where he truly began to flourish as a key contributor of several International Tournament winning teams as well as Sunshine States winning rosters.
At the high school level Greg was an immediate standout, earning All-County honors in all four years of high school while leading Boca Raton High School to several state championship tournaments. As well as on the swimming side winning a state championship in the 100 backstroke and setting a school record. While being an elite athlete, Greg was also strong in school, earning multiple USA Water Polo All-Academic honors.
During his summers Greg found himself playing with San Diego Shores under California legends Rod Bowen and Doug Peabody. In 2021 he was an integral part of San Diego Shores’ 16u team that took 2nd place at U.S. Club Championships and 2nd place at the Junior Olympics. In 2022 he was a defensive stalwart for the Shores’ 18u team that earned a 2nd place finish at U.S. Club Championships and a 10th place finish at Junior Olympics.
A high school graduate of the 2023 class and now a sophomore in college Greg continues to play for Bucknell University where he is majoring in finance with a minor in real estate.
